Job Description

Firmware Lead Engineer with 5+ years of Experience on Reliability Test development and validation of NAND FLASH storage devices [HDD Opti-NAND]. Will be part of development of test specifications, reviews, test development, failure analysis, debug, test coverage, Characterization and lab infrastructure bring up for customized Western Digital embedded NAND FLASH storage device. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establishing validation standards and developing Platform, performance and release testing and quality control measures.
• Develop validation test methodology for assigned firmware modules.
• Good to have storage background experience either in HDD, SSD or NVMe.
• Hands on experience in agile framework and test methodology.
• Analyzing test data to determine the causes of defects, failure, or flaws and facilitating corrective measures.
• Presenting validation test results and recommending improvements.
• Review testing requirements and influence future WD HDD product test capability.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure firmware verification meets product expectations and needs.
• Achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
• Participate in planning and coordinating significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusion.
• Continuously improve the existing processes and systems to keep them up to date with the customer needs and industry trends

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or equivalent required.

• Minimum 5+years in  Storage or Embedded industry segments

Has Experience of leading a test/validation team for multiple program/release

• Experience in Embedded Firmware validation, Test case debugging.

• Good to have experience in programming  (e.g. Python).

• Experience in doing failure analysis with respect to reproducing and root causing the FW and Test failures.

• Understand Software development and Test Life Cycle.

• Hardware and software debugging skills

• Experience working with SAS and SATA protocols is a plus.

• Knowledge of system architecture is a plus.

Knowledge on the PLC process of a product

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
