WHAT WE DO

Western Digital India Team represents Engineering R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Strategy, Business Functions and Communications. We have a large R&D presence in Bengaluru and sales offices across the country.

WD Bangalore is a Center of Excellence and within R&D, our team is focused on engineering of enterprise Hard Disk Drives. It is a growing team that has been responsible for key enterprise products and has been instrumental in design, development of next generation architecture and products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Full Stack Software Engineer

• Design and develop overall architecture (client-side and server-side).
• Design and develop APIs that comply with Open-API 3.1 specification.
• Build next-generation web application with a focus on usability
• Create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Structure prototyping workgroup to prove out proposed new architectures, develop best practices and document solutions for prioritization with the engineering.
• Work closely with the hardware, software and validation teams to understand their current architectures, systems and implicit requirements.
• Ensure stable and reliable application and associated services and mitigate user problems.
• Create tools, automation scripts, and streamlined processes to ensure rapid deployment of services.
• Follow Agile methodologies in development and openly and transparently communicate with global stakeholders
• Become the subject matter expert, owner of one or more components and provide technical leadership.
• Evolve metrics and delivery goals for this system and measure the performance of this system in delivering these goals. Plan for continuous improvement of this system and processes to achieve higher efficiencies over time.
• Create design documents pertinent to the various phases of development.
• Self-motivated to work both unsupervised and as part of an agile team. Collaborate to develop self and others within group.
• Participate in planning and coordinating significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusions.
• Keep up to date with the latest advancements in the DevOps and CI/CD space.
• Innovate and ideate on new processes, technologies, and tools. 

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelors +4 yrs experience or Master +2 yrs experience in CS, IT, CE  or equivalent required.
• Proven expertise in the following: .NET, C#, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, PostgreSQL
• Proven expertise with Ansible, Containers, and Configuration-as-code.
• Experience with legacy and modern application development, service delivery and deployment, converged infrastructure, virtualization systems, containers and associated technologies.
• Good understanding of the current state of automation infrastructure, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Must have worked on developing and deploying event-based microservices in minimum one project. Familiar with high-availability concepts and message brokers like Nginx and RabbitMQ.
• Demonstrated ability for analytic thinking and learning new technologies, complex code and developing system, architecture view and user problems..
• Technical mindset with great attention to detail and an ever positive, can-do attitude.
• Must have working knowledge about monitoring, alerting and dashboarding of operational performance.  Experience with Grafana, PowerBI, InCigna
• Strong aptitude and penchant for problem solving, algorithm design and system design.
• You are comfortable and enjoy working with dynamic and ever evolving environments.
• Demonstrate use of out-of-box thinking for creative solutions to highly sticky problems.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and are an effective collaborator.
• You'll be a fun and enthusiastic teammate who enjoys a challenge and celebrates success.

Preferred

• Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, container orchestration systems, or other similar platforms.
• Ability to address application security patterns including web application security.
