As a Senior Technologist, you will establish and drive the vision for digital processes and transformation in technology development. In this role, you will collaborate and/or lead a team involving areas of engineering, manufacturing, development, etc to solve sophisticated problems with solutions. The focus area includes but is not limited to:

• Establish and drive enterprise roadmap and strategy that will propel the head backend to be the most advanced global technology in the industry
• Enabling sophisticated characterization and algorithm across a broad spectrum of problems/opportunities to accelerate technology solutions and decision making

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as chief of staff. E.g. Manage and enhance the technology road map. Control OPEX spending and strategically react to forecasts and results.
• Control all Capex and lead the entire team to accomplish the goal.
• Manage the organization’s playbook and KPI target for each Qtr and Fiscal year. Track and suggest if any delay was observed. Also create any initiative based on a strategic problem statement, with a clear goal, and lead the team for execution.
• Accountable for HAMR BE process validation. Validate the proposed technology building block by designing and analyzing the data from DOE.
• Draw a conclusion about whether the building block has accomplished advertised benefits from the owner of a building block.

REQUIRED:

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in an Engineering or Science field; additional informative experience in Data Science preferred
• At least 5-10 years of related experience in management or thought-leadership positions with excellent knowledge in both mechanical and/or electrical engineering fields.
• Experience in a large technology company in process technology, product technology, design, or systems-level development

PREFERRED: 

• Consistent track record forming successful teams from scratch, managing under tight deadlines, and providing mentorship on strategies
• Deep experience in solving business problems across functions by translating them into solutions with measurable high business value
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Machine Learning/AI, Robotics, Cognitive computing, optimization, etc
• Experience in solution architecture and its technology stacks and components. Familiarity with common data modeling approaches and a good understanding of how to deal with various datatypes, larger data sets, and parallel computing problems.
• Passion to teach others about data science and continue to learn new techniques. Monitor the market for emerging technologies for adoption and work on proof of concepts then scale for full deployment.
