Job Description

As SSD Manufacturing Manager, you will manage SSD Test Manufacturing Area of 330 direct reports engaged in the production of SSD Test Area. You will provide leadership and direction to shift supervisors and leads toward the attainment of production goals. You will maintain oversight of the production process and drive resolution of problems that arise. You will adapt to changes on the fly and pursue alternate paths, when necessary to achieve objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain staffing levels needed to meet production/non-production schedules
  • Plan and execute operator training strategies to ensure coverage of assign operations 
  • Monitor production requirements to ensure priorities are communicated and addressed
  • Identify and drive resolution of problems that could impact output or quality
  • Monitor tool performance as needed and react to out-of-control situations 
  • Work with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Process Engineering and Maintenance teams to address process issues 
  • Ensure employees are hired, promoted, and compensated consistent with company policies
  • Track employee performance to ensure expectations are being met 
  • Provide timely coaching to develop and enhance the performance of your direct reports 
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and ensure assessments are fair and consistent 
  • Address performance problems in a timely fashion and take appropriate actions 
  • Ensure the consistent application of appropriate disciplinary actions, when warranted
  • Provide coaching/direction to lower level managers, supervisors, or technicians
  • Help promote and implement “Lean” manufacturing concepts
  • Champion Kaizen events 

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree
  • Prior supervisory/management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • Knowledge of SSD manufacturing processes and associated equipment and testers
  • Familiarity with MES, SPC and similar applications/systems used to monitor drives flow and equipment performance. 
  • Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Intermediate level, minimum) 
  • Familiarity with production reports used to assign work, prioritize wip and track output 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Able to work 12 hours in rotational shift
