Job Description

Global Operations Strategy Organization is to discover the future, set strategies, and help define new standards of excellence to enable WD Global Operations to deliver sustainable competitive advantage. Digital Innovation being one of the pillars of the vision is to drive innovation and game-changer strategy, process, practice, and methodology to accelerate the Global Operations growth and excellence. Digital Innovation Dept is seeking a Senior Manager in the Data Governance

 

This position will be focusing on driving and managing enterprise data strategy and governance. The ideal candidate with strategic experience will research, data model, and integrate data architectures to align with business strategy and values. This includes but not limited to:

  1. Identify distinct use cases that impact the organization considering revenue, cost, and risk.
  2. Quantify value
  3. Improve data capabilities
  4. Develop a scalable delivery model

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact with business partners and lead discussions to understand the critical to success data needs and provide guidance both technical and best practice processes.
  • Research and understand the business operation data insights, requirements, and their usage model and roadmap.
  • Architecting Data Structures, Solutions & Security and Data control structures within an optimum environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners, data source, and IT.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate in projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • Engage and lead strategic projects with multi-functional internal and external teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. 
  • Proficiency in AWS Redshift/MPP, AWS RDS & cloud computing.
  • Proficiency in data governance, architecture, warehousing, integration, and modeling.
  • Experience with common developer languages like SQL, Python, Java etc.
  • 6+ years of experience in work related to data governance, architecture, management, development, and technology.
  • Proficiency in AWS Services and Platform. AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Agile Project Management. Agile Certified is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in ETL development work, big data architecture and design.
