Job Description

  • Leading and Managing a team of highly experienced firmware engineers responsible for the NVMeoF controller development. Responsibilities include technical management and interfacing with Program managers, Architects, Power/Thermal management engineers, Board designers for board bring up and Vendors. Drive end to end development of Firmware Management Interface with cross geo teams.

Qualifications

  • 14+ years of experience in Software development with core experience mainly on Networking/Storage Domain is preferred. Job role requires a Technical manager who will continue to work hands on apart from leading and managing the team in developing firmware across Controller architectures
  • Ability to innovate, design and implement firmware features.
  • Design, develop, code, and debug Firmware by applying knowledge of Storage Networking hardware architecture and system design.
  • Must understand x86, UEFI, x64 CPU instructions and general architecture.
  • Layout and establish design documents with the engineering team
  • Extensive experience programming in C, C++ and scripting languages.
  • Candidate is expected to demonstrate strong knowledge of Storage/Networking Protocol Internals.
  • Demonstrated ability of working well in a diverse and cross geo team environment 
  • Good communication and organizational skills are required

Additional Information

  • Manage a firmware team responsible for the design, development and sustenance for WD Platform product portfolio.
  • Participate in key product development and technical teams
  • Excellent knowledge in Software development lifecycle and engineering processes 
  • Capable of working as part of a global development team spanning across geos.
  • Good stake holder management and interact with program managers, sales, quality and cross geo teams on a regular basis
  • Manage an Agile team with TTM as a goal with high quality deliveries. 
  • Manage the team goals, schedules, budget and mentor the team
