Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team responsible of product characterization for failure, quality and development support. Conduct characterization activities using  AFM ( Atomic Force Microscopy), SEM/EDX  (Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-Ray), FIB (Focus Ion Beam), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope)
  • Do process failure analysis (FA) and help process team to find root cause
  • Handle tool operation as necessary and develop characterization techniques based on assigned function
  • Collect and analyze data from scanning probe and electron microscopes, using sound statistical principles, summarize findings, generate reports, and communicate results effectively with team members and senior management.
  • Develop computer-based image and data processing algorithms to enable efficient analysis of metrology, failure analysis and materials characterization data to support R&D.
  • Contribute in the development of a comprehensive Materials Science analytics database to enable fast data retrieval and analysis on a scientifically sound basis.
  • Build the knowledge and experience in an international, industrial Materials Science laboratory environment leading to managing a team of engineers.
  • Use current Data Sciences/Analytics tools to enrich the learning/understanding from the data
  • Do process failure analysis (FA) and help process team to find root cause
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Engineering or Physical Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 - 4  years of experience in the field of microscopy (probe or electron).

PREFERRED:

  • Experienced with hard-disk drive technology is preferred.
  • Experience with coding, web development and Data Science is preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written)
  • Experienced with surface science and/or material science and metrology.
  • Knowledge and experience with computer programming.
