Job Description

The SoC Development team is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join a team of experienced engineers working on development of hard disk drive controller SoCs.As a Validation Engineer on the SoC Development Team you will develop embedded C/C++firmware for use in testing complex hardware in System On Chip (SoC) ASIC’s that focuseson the multiple processors on the SoC.You will work with state-of-the-artsilicon technologies and prototyping platforms to contribute to the success of industry leading data storage control SoC’s that get deployed into high volume consumer and enterprise products.The growing diversity of data creates an exponential number of new possibilities –for the world, our company and you. You’ll be part of a team driving the innovations necessary to outpace new demands and challenges everywhere data lives, from sensors to mobile devices to the cloud. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware that operates and tests the SoC hardware with a specific focus on the ARM processors and their peripherals including cache.
  • Understand ASIC hardware architecture and function for large scale, multi-processor, multi-core designs
  • Combine the use of embedded C/C++ firmware with various SoC validation platforms which span from pre-silicon prototyping to post-silicon devices: FPGA, Palladium, ASIC Validation Test Board, and product PCBA’s
  • Create documentation to be used for Validation Plans and Result
  • Interact cross-functionally with SoC Design, Verification, Product Firmware and Architecture teams
  • Provide reference firmware as needed and develop ASIC hardware driver firmware for use in product

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with 4-7 years of experience
  • Experience with embedded C/C++ firmware and limited amount of assembly code
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong team player who can collaborate with colleagues
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experience within the storage industry is a plus
  • Interest in ASICs, SoCs, hard disk drives, flash memory, semiconductor components
