Job Description

As a senior counsel in the Intellectual Property (IP) Compliance team, you will play a key role in ensuring that Company and business-partner confidential information and trade secrets are properly handled and protected, and that the Company is not improperly or inadvertently exposed to third-party confidential information and trade secrets.  You will report to the Director, IP Compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director, IP Compliance in updating and implementing the IP Compliance program for a complex global technology company
  • Assist with IP-related internal investigations
  • Partner with IT information security team to implement prevention, monitoring and remediation program for protecting Company’s IP
  • Develop and/or provide training to employees on IP Compliance topics
  • Help on-board and off-board new and departing employees, to ensure compliance with Company’s IP Compliance policies, procedures and safeguards
  • Work cross-functionally to evaluate and recommend changes and solutions to improve policies, procedures, and safeguards based on risk assessments and root-cause analyses
  • Advise internal business partners on IP Compliance-related issues

Qualifications

  • Qualified or licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction
  • 4-6 years of experience working as an attorney at a top law firm and/or as an in-house attorney, preferably in the area of trade secret litigation or protection
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts related to the memory, storage, semiconductor, and computing industries
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, investigative, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate legal and compliance issues verbally and in writing, in a clear and understandable manner
  • Customer-service focus and desire to work collaboratively with internal partners
  • Ability to be proactive and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and ability to consistently produce high-quality work product under deadline pressures
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment, including sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed, working at times with global teams in other time zones
  • Ability to travel, including international travel, as needed
