Job Description

•    Play a key role in the HDD firmware development through cutting-edge design and development that underpins the majority of our HDD firmware.
•    Develop quality firmware using best practices like Unit Testing, Test Driven Development, and Agile methodologies.
•    Participate in the development of Build and other firmware tools development.
•    Collaborate with a team of Firmware Developers that are responsible for generating optimal firmware solutions.
•    Debug firmware issues in a complex embedded system using emulators, scripts, and internal tools.
•    Opportunity to have direct hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies.
•    Develop the Storage firmware and deliver next generation Enterprise Storage Products to market;
•    Develop algorithms for modules and to align with customer requirements through utilizing software analysis skills.
•    Implement unit level bench testing framework in C++ programming language and develop extensive unit testing to provide a mature and stable code base;
•    Implement and debug Enterprise Storage Products firmware features in C++ language for Platform Storage products and create extensive firmware designs;
•    Identify and resolve design issues by working with HDD Firmware, Servo, and/or Test teams.
•    Advise on triage issues in the field and offer solutions to bugs.
•    Perform in-depth analysis for the issues reported by the customer by updating the bug ticket with information;
•    Debug firmware in a complex embedded system using emulators, scripts, internal tools, and/or emulator traces and provide root cause analysis of the failures.
•    Develop and modify TCL and Python scripts to analyze traces during FA;
•    Work closely with the Quality team to perform full qualification and resolution of the bug ticker;

Qualifications

•    BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
•    Solid understanding of C/C++ and scripting languages
•    Solid understanding of operating systems (Real-time OS is a plus)
•    Experience with emulators is a plus (GreenHills emulator usage desired)
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
