Job Description

  • Responsible for real-time firmware code required for head-disk interface spacing control in addition to Manufacturing firmware to optimize head-disk interface spacing control parameters
  • Candidate will be expected to own significant code development efforts and will participate in firmware design, implementation, testing, failure analysis and documentation
  • Responsible for developing firmware features that support the RSS goal of increasing device capacity while maintaining or improving reliability performance and cost.

Qualifications

  • MS/BSEE, MS/BSCE or MS/BSCS or related degree with 5+ years of experience in developing real-time embedded firmware
  • Software development background in C/C++ with demonstrable experience in real-time environments
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in structured code development and debug
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a multi-site agile development team
  • Experience in developing firmware using Agile / Lean mindset
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in the HDD industry in relevant domains is a plus
