Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage indirect material suppliers for adhesive, gases, lubricants, detergents, solvents etc. by implementing various quality process management tools 
  • Audit suppliers to ensure they are meeting the required quality standards
  • Work with WDC factories in resolving any quality issues by implementing effective solutions and long term continuous quality improvement initiatives with suppliers
  • Work on formulating and implementing new system and procedures at suppliers through collaboration in WDC.
  • Qualify new suppliers which have been identified by Procurement and work to bring suppliers to a high quality standards as required by WDC 
  • Liase with Material Science Lab to resolve any testing related issues or exploring new testing method for contamination control
  •  To be a leader to develop and control the part quality improvement at supplier sites.
  • To reduce the defective rate to meet the quality target.
  • To work on process design to manage and control any changes at supplier

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred. Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering can be considered provided experience is relevant
  • At least 6 years in Engineering or related fields in solvents, adhesives, chemicals, etc.
  • Able to travel between factories in Thailand on short notice
  • Able to write and has good command of English

PREFERRED:

  • Previous experience in Hard disk drive or chemical related industries
  • Experienced in Quality Management Tool
  • Trained Six-sigma, quality tool 
  • Previous experience in Supplier Quality Management and Control system (Supplier management Guideline)
  • Can work independently with minimum supervision
  • Traveling within Asia may be required
