ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Internal Audit Data Analytics & Process Automation Manager, assisting in developing the overall Internal Audit Data Analytics & Process Automation function, and working with internal teams to gather data and deep dive into complex analytic issues. The successful candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with energy and determination and will be well versed in delivering comprehensive data solutions including algorithm development and data management of complex systems.
Job Description
Day-to-day duties:

Build high-quality analytics systems that identify statistical anomalies and solve business problems using techniques from data mining, statistics, and machine learning
Apply data science techniques including segmentation, affinity/propensity models, user or product deep dives, marketing effectiveness, and project lifetime value.
Create clean, version controlled code to process big data and streaming data from a variety of sources and types
Perform feature engineering, model selection, and hyper-parameter optimization, to yield high predictive accuracy and deploy the model to production in a cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environment
Execute analytics projects to provide insights, dashboards/reporting, and recommended business actions
Collaborate with teams to coordinate and align on key data and analytics projects.
Build internal tools for monitoring and investigative purposes.
Improve data acquisition and analytics methodologies to further enhance Internal Audit team capabilities.
Required and preferred knowledge and job skills:

Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data science or business analytics with proven experience using data mining techniques and building data science models
Education: Master’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar quantitative field
Technologies: Expert in programming languages (SQL, Python, etc.) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), and data analytics tools (Alteryx, YODA, etc.)
Techniques: Knowledge of advanced analytical techniques including natural language processing (NLP), text mining/analytics, deep learning or image analysis
Skills: Exceptional data exploration skills with experience providing qualitative and quantitative analysis, ability to deliver actionable insights from complex data
Nature: Strong attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, natural curiosity regarding human behavior, ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel domestically in the US and internationally up to 10%.
