Job Description

We are creating a personal content experience that pulls all your content together (pictures, music, video, documents), no matter whether they are in USB drives, cloud or computer, into a single view and allows you to easily find, organize and consume your content.

A key part of our ecosystem is our content management system that runs on a variety of devices from low-power ARM Linux systems to Windows and Mac desktops.  The content management system offers a sophisticated REST API that allows mobile, desktop and web clients to interact with it.

This job is for a principal engineer role in the content management team. Ideal candidate would have a passion for computer science, expert-level programming abilities in any one of popular languages and have a good grasp of operating system fundamentals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to join this critical core team.
Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and develop features for My Cloud and EdgeRover products working in a cross-functional team with PM, UX and QA to deliver high quality end to end features.
  • Be technically adept to deep dive into SQL, performance profiling, threading and access patterns.
  • Work in a fast paced, agile environment that continuously delivers value to our customers.

Qualifications

REQUIRED: 

  • 5 years of professional software development experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science
  • Strong programming experience in Golang, C++ or Java
  • Experience building highly optimized software under tight device resource constraints
  • Experience in building REST API services
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED: 

  • Expertise in databases, SQL and SQLite
  • Knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and scalability constructs.
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of REST APIs, services and monitoring
  • Experience developing complex and highly available services running in a production environment
  • Experience developing on consumer devices powered by embedded Linux
