West Lexham is the one of the UK’s most innovative retreat centres. Currently we focus on hiring our events rooms and barn/cottage bedrooms for retreats, away days, festival weddings and our treehouses and bell tents for holidays. We have 22 acres with a boating lake, river, swimming pool, tennis court and both formal and wild gardens. We are run on social enterprise principles, renewable energy, built on upcycled materials with top design as a key USP.
We are about to start a major game changing project, building a large kitchen garden to supply food for our new restaurant/cafe. This new building will also include a library, reception, shop, outside amphitheatre, offices and staff room. We are also putting in a gym, sauna, hot tub and treatment rooms.
We are gearing up to provide educational courses, to become a ‘content and ethos based’ destination. We will curate content such as short courses, yoga & meditation, talks and kids’ activities. Nothing quite like this has yet been done in the UK, so we are looking for a pioneering General Manager.
The Role
The key focus of the General Manager role will involve:
·Full operational responsibility for the business to ensure exceptional standards. This includes budgeting, financial management and reporting. Also directing and monitoring housekeeping; grounds; maintenance; sales, booking and marketing.
·Leading and developing the team.
·Helping greet guests and representing us at external events.
·Developing and staffing the restaurant, spa and shop.
·Building and implementing systems from the ground up.
The role involves mucking in, not just delegating.

Package
