West African Soy Industries Limited (WASIL) operates one of the largest specialized oils and fats processing complexes in Africa. The manufacturing facility is located in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, with raw materials sourced from farmers in Kaduna, Katsina, Niger and other states across Nigeria.
The Company is active in the Soy value chain through its out-grower farming activities by providing high quality agri-inputs to farmers and procuring farm produce from them through off-take arrangements.

We educate the farmers on Yield Enhancement Techniques (YET) to improve their crop yield, and train women on best practices in Shea collection and primary processing.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Boiler Operator

Job Description

  • Monitor Boiler plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
  • Start or stop Boiler, auxiliary pumping equipment, or other equipment when necessary.
  • Open and close valves and switches in sequence to start or shut down auxiliary units.
  • Daily observance of the sectional checklists.
  • Record and compile operational data by completing and maintaining forms, logs, or reports.
  • Clean, lubricate, or maintain equipment such as Boiler, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Check and report hourly change in readings from charts, meters and gauges, at established intervals.
  • Monitor the temperature, output, and water level of the system.
  • Operate or maintain distributed Steam generation equipment, including produce energy on-site for processing or other commercial purposes.
  • Communicate with incoming shift operator’s boiler status as needed
  • Collect oil, water, samples for laboratory analysis as needed.
  • Strictly adhere and conform to all Quality Management Standard

Qualifications

  • HND or OND in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6-10 years working experience in boiler house operation

Additional Information

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting of system fault or mal-functions
  •  Good knowledge of generators’ sequence of operation
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must to have good knowledge of the electrical basic components and power signal flow.
  • Carry out the PPM schedule for the section
  • Ability strictly adhere to lay down standard operation procedure, S.O.P.
