Job Description
The Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for processing and tracking daily hardware and software requests, while maintaining compliance with applicable licensing terms and conditions, and company policies. Will assist with maintaining asset management systems through timely and accurate input of data, as well as overseeing work orders while collaborating with other internal teams to ensure timely completion of requests and asset allocations.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years experience of technical exposure in one or more of the following or internship: IT asset management, software licensing, help desk, servers, desktops, or software development.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical specifications to non-technical documents.
- Demonstrated understanding of cloud and SaaS environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to give and take feedback in a constructive manner, and to foster cooperation and collaboration across teams. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to gather data and develop and effectively communicate solutions.
- Strong detail orientation.
- Effective planning, time management, prioritization, and organization skills. Flexible and adaptable with changing priorities.
Preferred:
- Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers.
- Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers IAITAM.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or business.
- Prior experience in IT Asset Management.
- Prior experience with software licensing.
- Prior experience interpreting contracts.
- Prior experience in a Citrix environment .
Additional Information
Job Responsibilities
a. Review and process all software related work orders following documented procedures, and ensure compliance and data integrity with records maintained in the software asset management repository and/or the change management database.
b. Review and process all hardware related work orders, for both virtual and physical hardware. Follow documented procedures and ensure compliance with applicable licensing terms and conditions.
c. Develop relationships and work effectively with appropriate technology teams and business units to manage the tracking and monitoring of software and hardware. Be an asset management resource and work with facilities and desktop to validate hardware location information and ensure changes are made to the system.
d. Monitor appropriate system logs and work with appropriate team members to address concerns.
e. Work with appropriate team members to review software titles that are not under a regular review schedule.
f. Complete processes and procedures related to maintaining and managing the asset management and change management database.
g. Assist in coordinating user software audits for software titles both in Wellmark’s environment (including cloud environments) as well as provided via SaaS. Will work under the guidance or direction of asset management peers.
h. As needed, assist in functions related to license reviews, renewals, and license reclamations.
i. Serve as a back up to other asset management team members as needed.
j. Other duties as assigned.
