Job Description
About the opportunity: As a Team Leader for Health Care Innovation (HCI) Operations, you will provide day to day leadership to team members who serve in various roles in the development and delivery of business solutions and operational outcomes of Wellmark's total cost of care (TCOC) initiatives. You will leverage expertise to effectively manage and support decisions holistically across the enterprise. In addition, you will partner with leaders and internal stakeholders to move cost of care initiatives from idea, to making recommendations for improvement, to execution, which also includes supporting initial sizing, business case analysis, building dashboards, tools, and resources for TCOC and value realization.
As a leader of others, you will directly impact the success, growth, and development of team members by setting clear expectations, coaching to each team member’s strengths, and fostering a team-centric work environment. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications - Great to have:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Healthcare industry experience.
- Prior leadership experience.
Required Qualifications - Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience which includes demonstrated success developing, planning, and delivery of innovative, strategic business solutions.
- Strong understanding of business initiatives in order to offer guidance in the translation of corporate strategy into actionable, measurable results.
- Leadership skills typically gained through a combination of project or informal leadership that demonstrates knowledge of work processes, services, or leadership competencies. Flexible and adaptable with the ability to effectively coach and mentor others and lead teams through change.
- Advanced ability to cultivate peer and key stakeholder relationships in order to drive results. Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and upward to senior leadership to manage and resolve business issues and challenges.
- Advanced consultation skills, including demonstrated success influencing key stakeholders and business decisions.
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex concepts across all levels of an organization.
- Strong presentations skills, including development and delivery. Effective critical thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to synthesize complex information in order to develop creative solutions that meet business and stakeholder needs.
- Self-starter with strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills with demonstrated ability lead and participate as a member of a team to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to scope, timeline, resource, and budget projects.
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office suite with the aptitude to learn new software or figure out technical challenges quickly.
- Proficiency in HROR highly preferred.
Additional Information
What you will do:
a. Provide leadership and support of business objectives and produce results that are effective, accurate, timely, and on target to meet business and stakeholder needs. Identify, monitor, cascade and communicate strategy and initiatives to team members supporting achievement of overall company result to ensure success and leverage results for future process improvements.
b. Provide day-to-day leadership of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee and leader coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination, and budgeting for business area.
c. Provide guidance and support of a team responsible for quantifying strategy into specific objectives, results, and measurements and monitoring and recommending adjustments to ensure objectives are being met.
d. With a product centric mindset, leads and supports team in the overall design, development, implementation, and on-going management of processes for the generation, identification, development, prioritization, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Ensure concept teams and related initiatives align with strategy and that opportunities are identified and acted upon to continually improve and refine processes.
e. Responsible for leadership and support in the creation and on-going management of dashboards in collaboration with business analytics teams. Utilizes information to present insights and outcomes.
f. Provide strategic planning support to ensure intended outcomes, measurement of value and investment align with Wellmark and division strategy. Provide strategic planning guidance within the division as needed.
g. Serve as a key resource and consultant on initiatives aligned with the direction of Wellmark and division strategy.
h. Other duties as assigned.
