Job Description
The Cloud Analyst Internship is part of the Cloud Connectivity team. The Cloud Connectivity team is responsible for the architecture, planning, implementation, support and maintenance of cloud connectivity services for Wellmark. Wellmark is building innovative, modern solutions using cutting edge technology. We are driving organizational transformation and business strategy by empowering our technology team to innovate new and elegant solutions to enhance the customer experience. Together, we are leaning into the future, owning the outcome, and driving organizational change to transform how we work.
What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:
- Provide day to day experiences of collaboration and partnership with various leaders and teams; focus on small scale deliverables, building interpersonal relationships, exposure to cross divisional elements of the Wellmark organization
- Review existing manual processes and identify opportunities for automation
- Assist with updating team document process, run-books, diagrams, etc.
- Partner with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and other stakeholder to troubleshoot and issue resolutions for applications and systems.
- Execute system changes, while configuring, monitoring and testing system performance and capacity.
- Assist with the research and implementation of the initial framework for AI-driven operational processes.

This internship will start in May of 2026, working a hybrid schedule from our headquarters in Des Moines.
Qualifications
- Current junior, senior or Master’s student studying Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related STEM field
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop proactive solutions
- Knowledge of Python, Ansible, GitHub, AWS
- Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proven ability to work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate to a variety of technical audiences
- Proactive in nature and someone that is naturally curious, inquisitive and willing to learn new skills
Preferred:
- Prior internship or office experience.
