Job Description
Are you motivated by connecting data to solutions and developing expertise in the way data supports Wellmark’s business? Wellmark's Client Consulting team is looking for a Reporting Analyst to support the timely & accurate delivery of data to successfully consult to those we care about most; our clients and members. You will use a variety of tools to query, extract and visualize data so that it addresses business needs– with a strong emphasis on quality and validation. You will work will as part of the Sales team and play an important role in supporting Wellmark’s large group clients You'll be sure to feel valued, appreciated, and at the core of our mission to make healthcare better with the insights you'll gather in this role.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience or internship in a data reporting, business intelligence, or analytics role.
- Strong analytical mind-set with a focus on deriving actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work. Familiarity with or ability to work with sensitive member data, such as claims data with a focus on integrity, accuracy and care.
- Technical competence with reporting and/or query tools such as, but not limited to SAS, SQL, Power BI, Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex technical information or solutions to stakeholders.
- Curiosity and desire to learn about the business and the details of the data involved. Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving to daily work; use deductive reasoning to research and ask questions to seek understanding.
- Ability to problem solve, investigate issues relating to business process, and recommend improvements.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative work environment. Ability to receive feedback in a constructive manner and to support cooperation and collaboration across teams.
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment through effective time management skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Healthcare industry is a plus.
- Additional programming knowledge is a plus.
Additional Information
a. Respond to and fulfill ad-hoc data requests from the Sales team with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
b. Use tools like Business Objects, SQL, SAS, Power BI, and other query tools to bring together data from multiple datasets.
c. Develop automated reports and dashboards to support reporting on key metrics or emerging client or business needs.
d. Ensure data outputs are clear, accurate and aligned with stakeholder needs. Understand and adhere to Wellmark’s data privacy guidelines.
e. Support monitoring the queue of incoming data requests and tracking of quality and accuracy for data requests.
f. Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of the ad-hoc request process to ensure transparency and process improvement opportunities.
g. Develop deep expertise on Wellmark’s data, the "Blue Insights" tool and other reporting tools and technologies (PBI, RxInsights, etc.).
h. Act as an internal resource and trainer for team members, providing guidance on tool functionality and best practices.
i. Collaborate with the consulting team in development and maintenance of consulting assets. Including developing new report requirements, maintaining and enhancing current resources, and assisting in the development of new reports using data visualization tools like Power BI.
j. Provide actionable insights by identifying trends and patterns within data sets.
k. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data processes and reporting capabilities, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
l. Other duties as assigned.
