Job Description
Use Your Strengths as a Senior Market Insights Analyst at Wellmark!
As a Senior Market Insights Analyst, you will be the curator of healthcare industry intelligence and develop a deep understanding of competitor actions, network design and market performance. You will identify, develop, and monitor new growth opportunities within the market. You will establish yourself as an intelligence subject-matter expert within the organization. You will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to interpret market opportunities and threats, lead and deliver market segment and product development initiatives, and evaluate health system and provider leverage. You will conduct market and competitive analysis including needs assessment, conceptualization, proposal development, data mining, and analysis. Additionally, you will proactively evaluate competitive impacts, network intelligence and market disruption through investigation and develop visual representations of core data analysis to present to key stakeholders within the business. Lastly, you will build core relationships with leadership and lead Market Insights projects to deliver effective intelligence to decision-makers.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
- 4+ years of market intelligence, market research, financial services, or related experience, including proficiency with data collection/analysis and development of actionable results that support stakeholder decision making in an Insurance, Financial Services, or similar corporate environment. Must be able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and independently provide targeted insights for segments in order to help drive business strategy.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop recommendations and relay the "story” to stakeholders. Ability to independently conduct research as appropriate.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams from within a corporate setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts clearly and concisely. Ability to present findings to leadership or larger audiences. Ability to effectively consult with stakeholders and influence decisions.
- Proficiency with data analysis techniques. Proven ability to monitor, collect, record, and summarize data, as well as evaluate accuracy, validity, and integrity.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and adaptable to change.

Additional Information
a. Lead Market and Competitive Intelligence initiatives through research, rational judgement, and investigative creativity to deliver an unbiased and respected view of the market. Collaborate with internal and external sources to build a resource pool of information and knowledge sharing.
b. Establish expertise with leadership, and key stakeholders as the market segment, network landscape and competitive expert. Guide rational decision making based on our competitive position and provide open communication channels to share information.
c. Lead efforts to establish Wellmark’s competitive position within the market. Provide key insight into competitors within the market by using primary and secondary research tactics. Gather intelligence from public and private sourcing to support analysis and research consultation.
d. Concept, develop and compile internal and external data to analyze the performance of Wellmark market segments and network design. Support the Segment Performance and Network Strategy initiatives by analyzing cost trends and profitability measures by segment, distribution channels, buyer portfolio, benefit trends and financial performance within business.
e. Proactively provide insights, recommendations, and future-state initiatives to the Product, Network, and Segment Performance teams. Perform complete reviews of key performance indicators, measures, and product and marketing goals to provide direction on how to achieve success.
f. Responsible for developing strategic recommendations to support Segment Performance, Network Strategy and Product Development initiatives by conducting quantitative and qualitative research including needs assessment, conceptualization, proposal development and data analysis and reporting. Mentor and coach team analysts on methods, measurements, and provide instruction on best practices to achieve Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence goals.
g. Lead the enrollment forecasting process and market opportunity analysis to effectively measure future enrollment potential within the market segments. Perform enrollment forecasting functions including statistical model development, trends, and analyze environmental circumstances that effect enrollment and sales opportunities. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and assist with developing financial impacts from sales and new enrollment.
h. Lead market assessment, network landscape and competitive intelligence research including quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and reporting. Identify key opportunities and gaps within our network or market to support Segment Performance, Network Strategy and Product Development. Participate in annual planning with the Segment Performance, Network, and Product teams to identify goals to support key initiatives.
i. Use statistical software applications to analyze data and results from research; formulate key opportunities and gap analysis based on research findings. Identify key opportunities for new or enhanced networks, products, and services.
j. Other duties as assigned.
