Located on 39 beautiful, wooded acres in Haverhill, MA, High Pointe House provides a comfortable, welcoming home-like alternative for patients in need of specialized end-of-life care. With twenty-one private suites, our goal is to ensure the Hospice House is available to patients and families when time is most precious. One of only two inpatient hospice facilities in Massachusetts licensed to care for children as well as adults, High Pointe House address’s these complex medical needs with compassion and dignity. It is a place for patients and families to spend their last days together in peace, comfort and security.
The Hospice Nurse Aide is a trained paraprofessional who provides personal care and other incidental care to patients as instructed by and under the supervision of the professional clinician. Hospice Aides provide care to patients in a variety of community settings, including to patients under home health and hospice plans of care, residing in private homes, assisted livings, skilled nursing facilities and hospice inpatient facilities.
Certified Home Health Aide or CNA with ability to pass written and demonstration competencies as required by regulations upon hire. Depending on the position, the aide may be required to pass additional competencies, including Dementia Care and Hospice Care.
Flexible, sensitive to the needs of others, able to cope with emergencies.
Ability to read/write and communicate in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Tact and sensitivity in dealing with emotional or stressful patient situations.
Responsible and reliable.
Good organization skills.
