Company Description

Webtellect operates with the zeal of a start-up, to provide expert software design and development services to a suite of clients. We are not the firm where folks can put the feet up, enjoy a paycheck, and mill around the water cooler.  We are the firm that is passionate about technology, and utilizing such in the pursuit of solving business and real-world challenges.  Work hard, play harder.  Our clients have defined budgets and we are held to higher expectations.  We have various vertical markets we attack offering relevant solutions, and therefore we do not live and breathe in only a "single technology" or "one-technology-fits-all mindset."  Each project potentially offers something new.  We have a driving passion for software excellence.  Feathers in our cap includes the development of interactive exhibits for the Visitor Center of the world’s largest philanthropic organization, custom enterprise platform development for the largest drilling company in the U.S. Oil and Gas industry, Medical Record solutions, and giving back to our community through various programs.

Job Description

We are in need of a strong, experienced development engineer to focus on our Azure based web services, including APIs, data binding and integration with our Content Management System. The focus will be primarily on back end services with some potential work on the client side technologies (ie, JavaScript).

Our client is Microsoft Research. Microsoft Research collaborates with academic institutions, industry, and internal product teams to advance the state of the art in computer science.

As part of engagement with these communities, we strive to apply the most relevant cutting edge research into scalable, user ready solutions with customer driven goals. We are an engineering team whose mission is to apply best practices in software engineering to the latest, most promising research technologies to deliver innovative solutions with confidence. We facilitate breakthrough computer science innovation, large-scale research adoption, and high value tech transfers.

Our small group of FTEs plan, design, implement and release incubation projects, while managing highly skilled vendors to scale out development and QA. This model means that our vendors must be experienced, dedicated and an integral part of solving the technical design and engineering challenges we face. Some examples of our projects include World Wide Telescope (http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/), ChronoZoom (http://www.chronozoom.com/), TryF# (http://www.tryfsharp.org/), CodaLab (https://www.codalab.org/), and Skype Translator (http://www.skype.com/en/translator-preview/). We’ve established credibility by shipping ambiguous and ambitious projects on time, and now our team is working on the next big thing: Research News (https://www.researchnews.com/).
