Job Description

The Finance team is looking for a motivated and independent individual to join us as an Assistant Director, primarily in driving the project for accounting system implementation.

Additionally, he/she is to understand the current finance processes and assist with continuous improvement including but not limited to digital transformation, making the processes/function more efficient and productive. The candidate shall also assist with policy and SOP drafting to name a few.

The ideal candidate is someone who has full set experience in finance and accounting work and is familiar with the full accounting process from transactions to reporting. He/she also should be proactive, meticulous yet understand the overall impact to the financials, be willing to assume responsibilities and committed to deadlines.

This will be a one-year contract, convertible to permanent based on performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for implementing the accounting system:

a) Involve in accounting system selection

b) Understand the current accounting function and work with the finance team to make improve the current processes for efficiency and productivity

c) Work with the selected vendor to set up and customize the accounting system that fits the needs of the organization

d) Co-ordinate and work with the vendor for the UAT, training of users

e) Be the key player for parallel runs of the existing and new systems

f)  Ensure the system is implemented with proper documentation and manuals

g) Involve in the audit of the newly implemented system

 

2. To assist the finance team in the following activities:

a) Help to liaise between the various parties in system implementation and the finance team in terms of needs and information.

 

3.     Other responsibilities as assigned by Reporting Officer.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Qualifications: Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
Experience: 4-5 years of relevant working experience 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Well-versed in MS office, especially with MS Excel.
  • Can write/communication independently.
  • Ability to engage people at different levels, and good organisational skills
  • A self-starter who is able to plan, organised and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently.
  • A team player
  • Relevant project management knowledge will be an added advantage.
