Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Governance and HR, the role is responsible for handling a full spectrum of HR functions which includes HR Policies and Procedures, Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Appraisals and Employee Transition.

1.    HR Policies and Procedures

  • Review and recommend relevant enhancements to HR policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and EduTrust requirements
  • Engage key stakeholders in the implementation of various HR policies as well as other initiatives
  • Provide advice to staff on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures as well as employment legislation

2.    Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement

  • Work closely with  business line heads and Head of Governance and HR to identify manpower and recruitment needs
  • Manage the recruitment, appointment and contract renewal process for all employees and faculty (e.g. candidates screening, interview arrangements, employee contract executions, employee pass applications etc.)
  • Facilitate the on-boarding and induction for new employees and faculty
  • Coordinate employee climate surveys and follow up on action plans
  • Organise initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and internalization of organization culture and values (e.g. team building activities, townhalls, employee wellness programmes etc.)​​​​​​​

3.    ​​​​​​​Compensation and Benefits

  • Oversee payroll & benefits administration by 3rd party outsource party
  • Provide support to compensation & benefits benchmarking exercise

4.    Performance Appraisals and Employee Transition

  • Facilitate the annual performance appraisal and mid-year reviews for employees as well as annual faculty review exercise
  • Develop staff career ladder framework which sets out expectations and responsibilities by grades, as well as clear guidelines to objectively assess staff performance across teams
  • Support business line managers in organising performance coaching sessions and career conversations with their staff
  • Handle employee disciplinary/conduct issues, grievances, and other employee disputes
  • Manage employee transition activities including redeployment, exit interviews, offboarding etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education Qualifications: Degree from a recognized University; preferably with specialization in Human Resource Management.
  • Experience: At least 8 to 10 years of HR experience ideally gained in education institutes or industry-leading organizations
  • Excellent knowledge of Employment Acts and Labour Laws
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing HR initiatives and programmes
  • Analytical, with ability to think strategically while being detailed oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders to secure buy-in and commitment for actions
  • Excellent team player with good collaboration skills
  • Situational awareness and ability to think on the feet
  • Mature, driven and resourceful and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-engagement environment
