Job Description
Becoming part of the UK team in our Risk Advisory Service Line will present new opportunities for you to make a positive impact as we embark on securing major projects with our top international clients.
We are currently working with some of the world’s leading Financial Services firms to design and transform risk operating models and underlying processes, enabling our clients to manage their risks in an increasingly complex and fast‑changing environment.
As a Manager, you will join our teams on engagements to deliver end‑to‑end solutions, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support throughout the full project lifecycle. You will also play a key role in the growth of our practice by contributing to business development, identifying new opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships.
Your role will include contributing to a variety of impactful projects, such as:
Delivering enterprise risk management strategies and frameworks across banking, insurance, and asset management, with a strong focus on non‑financial risks and emerging technologies.
Leading risk identification and assessment activities to ensure inherent, emerging, and evolving risks are clearly understood and effectively managed.
Developing risk strategy and governance mechanisms that support enterprise priorities, including risk policy frameworks, process transformation, and addressing practical challenges faced by financial services firms.
Driving complex regulatory change initiatives by conducting gap analyses on new regulatory and compliance requirements and assessing their impact on risk strategy (e.g., AI risk emerging regulatory policy, SS1/21, GDPR, EU AI Act, Payment Services Regulation).
Designing and implementing effective control frameworks and operating models, including capability mapping, governance structures, and organisation design across the Three Lines of Defence.
Leading and assuring programme delivery, ensuring initiatives are executed to agreed scope, quality, timelines, and governance standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role:
Proven experience in risk management within financial services, consulting, or a related field, with exposure to banking, insurance, or asset management.
Proven experience in the design and implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks, covering non‑financial risk and emerging risk themes (e.g., technology, operational resilience, AI‑related risks).
Demonstrated ability to lead risk assessments, facilitate workshops, and translate complex risks into clear, actionable insights and activities, including for senior stakeholders.
Ability to analyse and transform end‑to‑end risk management processes, systems and risk‑based tools, including experience with risk identification and assessment methodologies, RCSA, Business Impact Assessment, scenario analysis, and risk assurance activities and guidance.
Ability to design and implement effective control frameworks and operating models, including capability mapping, governance structures and organisation design aligned to the Three Lines of Defence model.
Strong experience leading and assuring programme delivery, ensuring all initiatives are delivered to agreed scope, quality standards, timelines and governance expectations.
Experience delivering regulatory change initiatives, including interpreting new regulatory requirements and conducting impact or gap analyses.
Strong knowledge of key regulatory frameworks relevant to financial services.
Understanding of emerging risk tools, including AI‑enabled risk technologies used in risk transformation activities.
Apply and promote recognised risk management standards and best practices, including COSO and ISO 31000.
Leverage experience in IT general controls, IT governance frameworks, ISO 27001 and COBIT to support alignment of technology and risk capabilities.

Travel and Location
Employees are not required to work in a Wavestone office on a full-time basis but are required to commute to the office /client site, whenever necessary. Wavestone UK office is in the heart of the city of London.
Note: Mandatory 2-3 days per week in Wavestone office / client site during probation.
