Job Description
Wavenet delivers cutting-edge technology solutions in a state-of-the-art Data Centre environment. We’re looking for a technically skilled, reliable, and proactive engineer with excellent communication skills who can work independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll do:
- Provide Remote / Smart Hands support for clients and internal teams
- Rack, un-rack, and configure equipment, including PDUs
- Terminate copper cabling and work with fibre optics
- Troubleshoot network issues across servers, switches, and firewalls
- Maintain accurate Data Centre documentation and ensure ISO27001 security standards
- Support internal teams, contractors, and on-call out-of-hours work
- Perform general Data Centre housekeeping, cable management, and audits
What we’re looking for:
- Experience with hardware, networking (Cisco/Juniper), operating systems (Microsoft/Linux), and telecommunications
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and collaborate with a team
- Experience in secure environments or Data Centres is highly desirable
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a clear client-focused approach
- Proven problem-solving ability and experience working effectively under pressure
- Technical experience across hardware, software, networking, telecommunications and systems support, with exposure to technologies such as Cisco/Juniper, Microsoft/Linux, and data centre or secure environments
