Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Dispatch Coordinator or experienced Office Administrator to join our team on a fixed-term, full-time basis, covering maternity leave for a minimum of six months, starting in late October. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity for the role to be extended.
As a Despatch Coordinator at WM New Zealand, you will play a crucial role in the efficient coordination of fleet scheduling, driver management, and supporting the branch with administration tasks. Your responsibilities will involve dispatching jobs ensuring customer needs are met, balancing driver workloads, monitoring routes and ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
What's Involved:
- Coordinate and dispatch jobs to drivers to ensure excellent customer service
- Balancing driver workloads and monitoring routes to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork and equipment for safe waste collection, including hazardous and medical waste.
- Monitoring and managing jobs that have been rescheduled by drivers, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Responding to customer queries and concerns via phone or email, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.
Qualifications
- Proven customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience in dispatch coordination or fleet scheduling, preferably in a logistics or waste management environment would be advantageous.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A commitment to upholding high standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
