Job Description
We are seeking a hands‑on and motivated Assurance Manager to join a relatively new assurance team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the function, make a meaningful impact, and deliver tangible value to the organisation.
You will work collaboratively across all departments to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls, while driving continuous improvement throughout the business.
About the role
In this position, you’ll partner closely with teams right across WM to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls while championing continuous improvement.
You will:
- Lead and execute end‑to‑end Internal Assurance engagements aligned with the approved IA plan
- Prepare high‑quality assurance reports that deliver clear findings, insights, and practical recommendations
- Support development of the annual assurance plan, including maintenance of the assurance map and assurance universe
- Provide trusted advice to leaders on governance, risk, and control matters
- Identify opportunities to use data to enhance risk identification, control testing, and insights
- Monitor and validate management’s implementation of audit and assurance recommendations
- Keep up to date with emerging risks, best practice, and relevant industry and regulatory developments
Qualifications
You’ll bring proven experience in audit or assurance (internal or external), including end‑to‑end delivery of engagements. You will also have:
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex issues
- Experience across financial and operational audits, with a focus on process improvement and internal controls
- The ability to build strong relationships, influence effectively, and collaborate at all levels
- High ethical standards, integrity, and objectivity in your assurance work
