Job Description
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of a transfer station haulage fleet. This role will also provide exceptional customer service which includes the effective management of drivers. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate transport services to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Liaise with suppliers and workshop in relation to service and maintenance requirements and to ensure planned maintenance times will not impact on customer service.
- Regularly review and allocate routes with direct reports to maximise efficiency of collection.
- Carry out daily spot inspections of direct reports, equipment, plant and vehicles to ensure issues are identified and remedied.
- Ensure drivers have been deemed competent and correctly licensed for operation of all equipment they are requested to operate.
- Hold regular toolbox meetings with all direct reports.
Qualifications
- Frontline supervisory experience, in a Transport & Logistics role
- Knowledge of transport regulations for operation of heavy vehicles
- Strong problem analysis and solution skills
- Experience leading teams
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Effective computer skills (MS excel, word, outlook)
- Class 5 license desirable
