We’re searching for a Commercial Business Partner who is equipped with critical thinking, is curious about how waste and recycling operations and keen to influence how waste becomes value, this is your opportunity.

You’ll be based at our Head Office in East Tamaki, Auckland, partnering with operations, sales and other teams where all are passionate about environmental impact. 

This is a fantastic role for someone ready to expand their commercial capability and step confidently into a business‑facing, purpose‑driven commercial finance position.

As the Commercial Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in strengthening financial performance across our operations. You’ll partner closely with operational teams, providing meaningful insights that support growth, efficiency, cost control and long‑term sustainability outcomes.

This role suits someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, learning how a waste environment operates, and working directly with people at all levels - from operators to managers to commercial leads.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting operations with actionable financial insights
• Analysing cost structures, volumes, yields and material flows unique to waste industry
• Supporting pricing models, service costing and commercial decision‑making
• Partnering with operations to improve reporting, processes and financial visibility
• Leading financial support for various streams in the business (occasional travel domestically)
• Leading forecasting, budgeting and performance tracking for areas of responsibility
• Helping shape the financial lens over a division that directly enables sustainability outcomes

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• CAANZ/CPA membership
• Advanced MS Office, mainly Excel
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Power BI
• Curiosity and keen interest in deploying AI
• Ability to interpret and analyse data from multiple systems and sources
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance, sales and operations, and autonomously when needed
• Confidence communicating complex financial concepts clearly and simply
• Strong commercial awareness and curiosity about how the business really works
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, business partnering skills and ability to influence senior management
• (Bonus) Experience in operational environments such as recycling, manufacturing, logistics or transport
