About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Operations Manager to join our high-performing team in Hastings.
We are looking for an individual who is results driven as you will be held accountable for the triple bottom line performance. We ask our managers to be detail oriented and act with a high level of professionalism. We understand that our people are our biggest asset. This role will:
- Manage operational service delivery through the application of efficient management practices including the appropriate use of labour and equipment resources
- Lead, develop and support team to meet business objectives and undertake effective customer relationships, as required.
- Ensure operational and administrative processes are conducted in compliance with business practice (eg conducting equipment checks; completion of payroll records; undertaking day to day safety activities.)
- Ensure site equipment is maintained and operated appropriately so as to perform the work required by customers, and advise Manager of equipment needs to provide effective service delivery.
- Investigate report and manage vehicle incidents/accidents, property damage and personal injury within the workplace.
Qualifications
About you

As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration and/or logistics.
- Five years or more experience in a contract management, facility management or logistics role.
- Proven leadership, people management and team working skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and satisfying competing demands.
- Moderate experience within the transport/waste/logistics and recycling industries is desirable.
- Exemplary communication skills and the ability to deal at all organisational levels.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Reasonably developed mechanical aptitude desirable.
- Current New Zealand driver’s licence.
