Warp Publishing is a leading independent music publishing company representing music by Khruangbin, Dry Cleaning, Danny Brown, Nightmares on Wax and many more. We are looking for an experienced Copyright Manager to join our team based in our London office, with a hybrid office and work from home model.

Job Description

You will provide the highest level of publishing administration services for our artists, looking after copyright and other publishing tasks as part of the Copyright & Royalties team. You will closely work with collection societies, digital service providers, sub-publishers, artists and their management and report to the Income Tracking Manager.

Qualifications

Your Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently obtain copyright and other relevant information from our roster to prepare for timely registration with Collective Management Organisations (CMO’s) and Sub-Publishers. 
  • Handling work and agreement registrations, ACK files, work rejections, work disputes, amendments and infringements.
  • Regularly reviewing and auditing catalogue information with multiple sources i.e CMOs and Sub-Publishers to ensure correct and up to date registrations.
  • Handling Sample clearance requests.
  • Submitting live setlists and cue sheets to collection societies where applicable and updating artists and managers on best practice. 
  • Closely working with the sync team on registering cue sheets or specifically composed works with relevant music reporting and monitoring services i.e Soundmouse & BMAT and CMO’s.
  • Closely working with the Income Tracking and Royalties Manager on all income tracking exercises.
  • Resolving any queries from Artists/Management, Royalties, DSPs, CMO’s & Sub-Publishers worldwide.
  • Building strong relationships with CMO’s, Sub-Publishers and peers, attending relevant meetings and conferences to stay on the forefront of copyright developments.

Necessary:

  • Minimum of two year’s experience in music publishing and copyright administration.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and Data Manipulation.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with peers and the wider copyright community
  • Passionate about independent music, the Warp Publishing roster, and the music publishing business.
  • Enthusiastic about providing a great service to our artists.
  • Experience with rights and royalty management software i.e Curve, Music Maestro or equivalent.
