Job Description

Role summary:
The (USA) Exterior Services Technician, DOT Operator - DS, is responsible for managing and executing exterior facility projects, including landscaping, snow removal, and equipment maintenance, while ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. This role involves budgeting, sourcing materials, coordinating with third-party providers, and maintaining quality and safety standards. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to deliver cost-effective solutions that support operational excellence. The technician will also provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and foster collaborative relationships to enhance service delivery and facility sustainability.


About the team:
The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Walmart’s outdoor environments through expert turf management, landscaping, and supervised pesticide applications. This team manages projects efficiently by planning work assignments, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. They collaborate closely with internal and external partners to uphold quality and safety requirements while supporting continuous improvements. The team values integrity, accountability, and effective communication to deliver reliable services that contribute to a well-maintained and safe facility experience for all stakeholders.

Base Salary Starting: $21.00 per hour


What you'll do:

  • Plan and prioritize work assignments, ensuring timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following established safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical assistance to facility users, resolving problems efficiently.
  • Source tools and equipment, control costs through price comparisons, and submit necessary documentation.


What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in planning, prioritizing, and executing work assignments efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of expense management to control company costs effectively.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and ability to ensure compliance in all work activities.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, customer service, and resolving facility-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality standards and safety requirements in all completed work.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification at a minimum of a 90 day card.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language
