Job Description
- Utilizes the Nursing Process to plan and implement in the delivery of patient care.
Initiates accurate and ongoing assessments of physical and psychosocial needs of patients within the department-specific guidelines as evidenced by documentation.
Collaborates with patient/significant other and members of multi-disciplinary team in the formulation of the overall plan of care.
Incorporates psychosocial, cultural, religious, and age-specific needs into the patient?s plan of care.
Develops interventions appropriate for the patient.
Utilizes appropriate resources in providing patient care. - Initiates referrals as appropriate.
- Evaluates and documents care based on patient responses. Involves the parent(s) of infants and children in procedures, education, and planning
- . Provides simple explanations to a child, tries to get them involved. Encourages/ allows adolescents to have input and to ask questions.
- Asks name patient prefers to be called.
Modifies environment as needed for the older adult. Increases lighting, positions to minimize glare, for comfort, reduces outside noise, etc?
Qualifications
Education / Experience: Graduation from accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: RN licensure in NC. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required within one year in select areas. Performs and maintains competency for point-of-care testing as assigned; waived and or non-waived, ensuring compliance with WFBH policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Through education, experience and/or training, the individual is qualified to work with patients throughout the life cycle (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult).
- Following completion of orientation, the individual is qualified to perform the functions of a Registered Nurse.
- Verbal communication skills
- Completes 15 hours of required continuing education annually.

Competitive Salary
Shift Differentials:
• 3p-7a (2nd and 3rd shift)- $4.00 per hr.
• Weekends- $1.25 per hr.
