Our best-in-class project management team has an overarching responsibility to deliver value for Wabtec IT through collaboration, execution, and an understanding of business needs while driving large scale initiatives across IT.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of our Strategy & Operational Efficiency organization, Wabtec is looking for an individual to join a best-in-class team of project managers. The Program Manager role reports directly into Enterprise Project Management and is responsible for program oversight and governance, strategic alignment, executive communication, cross-functional coordination, benefits realization, and reporting.  In addition, the Program Manager will lead specific projects within the program and direct other project managers responsible for individual projects.  The Program Manager will ensure alignment across project plans, resources, dependencies, risks, budgets, and deliverables to achieve overall program objectives and outcomes. 

What do we want to know about you?

You must have:

  • Proven experience in a Project Manager capacity working on projects closely related to IT
  • Experience in high change environments - digital transformation or Technical Project Manager working on projects closely related to IT operations
  • Track record of helping evolve agile practices in environments with a mix of legacy and modern applications
  • Experience leading geographically (globally) diverse teams through influence and best practices
  • Proven expertise in using remote collaboration tools for communication (synchronous and asynchronous), brainstorming and tracking status
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to relate with both technical and business professionals

 

We would love it if you had:

  • Usage and experience with ServiceNow, ClickUp, VSTS, Jira, confluence or similar tool to plan and maintain agile workflows and work
  • PMP/PRINCE2 certification

 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Lead a critical IT Program, overseeing the planning, execution, and coordination of multiple interrelated projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish program governance aligned with the IT PMO framework using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Parter with IT Leadership and business leaders to define program priorities, objectives, success metrics, and execution roadmaps.
  • Drive accountability across project teams to ensure alignment with program objectives and IT strategy.
  • Manage interdependencies across projects, resources, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Monitor overall program health, communicating program progress, milestones, risks, issues, funding status, and value realization to stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level dashboards, presentations, and status reports for the IT Leadership team and stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to influence decision-making.  Facilitate alignment among stakeholder teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Manage program-level budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and investment tracking across all program initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance through program lifecycle. Manage the budget, forecast, and timely payment of POs.
  • Maintain a consolidated program risk register and drive mitigation activities for strategic, operational, technology, and related risks.
  • Proactively identify cross-project risks, dependencies, conflicts, and resource constraints that could impact program outcomes.
  • Escalate critical risks and decision points to executive leadership as appropriate.
  • Define and track key program outcomes, performance indicators, and metrics.
  • Measure and report on business value, risk reduction, compliance improvements, and operational efficiencies delivered through the program.
  • Ensure successful transition of completed initiatives into operational support and sustained business value.
  • Coordinate change management, communications, training, and adoption activities across initiatives.
  • Drive organizational readiness for implementation of new controls, policies, and processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources across multiple projects to optimize program delivery.
  • Lead select strategic projects within the program while providing direction, coordination, and oversight to project managers responsible for executing other program initiatives.
