How will you make a difference?
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth and market penetration within the assigned region. This role focuses on leading by example across all aspects of business development, identifying new opportunities, and executing strategic commercial initiatives to achieve orders, revenue, and profitability targets.
You will lead regional go-to-market strategies, leveraging direct engagement with C-suite executives, site-level stakeholders, and strategic partners, including distributors, to expand Wabtec's footprint and accelerate business growth. In addition, you will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional commercial team, driving accountability, capability building, and business results.
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Proven experience in consultative sales, complex enterprise solutions, and strategic account management.
- Strong mining industry expertise, including operational technologies and mining production environments.
- Demonstrated success selling software, technology, or digital solutions within the mining and resources sector.
- Proven track record of developing new business opportunities and closing high-value, complex deals.
- Experience leading complex sales cycles and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- People leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and a resourceful, results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent networking, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
What will your typical day look like?
- Own regional business performance, driving orders, revenue, margin, cash flow, and overall sales targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline by leveraging marketing programs, partner relationships, and direct sales activities.
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities and expanding market presence.
- Build strategic relationships with customers and key stakeholders, influencing decision-makers and supporting long-term partnerships.
- Manage and grow the partner ecosystem, driving collaboration and joint go-to-market initiatives.
- Lead opportunity management, accelerate deal progression, and support complex negotiations to drive successful outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial Operations, Product Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Lead, coach, and develop the regional sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
