Who will you be working with?
As a UX Designer, you will help shape the next generation of RailConnect's transportation, logistics, and operational software solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, customers, and other designers to create intuitive, efficient, and scalable experiences for enterprise users across logistics products.
You will be responsible for owning the user experience of one or more key business domains within RailConnect, such as Finance, Visibility, Fleet Management, Operations, or related logistics workflows. In this role, you will help transform complex operational processes into thoughtful, user-centered experiences that deliver measurable value to customers. You will be responsible for understanding user needs, simplifying complex workflows, and delivering experiences that improve customer productivity, efficiency, and satisfaction.
You will work closely with Product Management and Senior UX Designer to ensure alignment with overall RailConnect user experience vision, design standards, and modernization initiatives.
How will you make a difference?
- Own the end-to-end user experience for one or more business domains within RailConnect.
- Analyze and simplify complex operational workflows, translating business processes and user needs into intuitive digital experiences.
- Create workflow diagrams, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs.
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver high-value customer experiences.
- Participate in customer interviews, usability testing, and research activities to better understand user problems and validate solutions.
- Collaborate with the Research & Insights team to leverage both qualitative and quantitative data in design decision-making.
- Help modernize and evolve existing RailConnect experiences while contributing to the design of new products and capabilities.
- Partner closely with the Senior UX Designer to ensure alignment with RailConnect's UX strategy, design standards, and design system.
- Contribute to and utilize shared design systems and reusable component libraries to create consistent user experiences.
- Ship meaningful product improvements that improve customer adoption, efficiency, and satisfaction.
- Support customer engagements, workshops, and other collaborative activities as needed.
- Leverage AI to accelerate outcomes and value delivery
- Position may require up to 15% travel to customer sites, internal workshops, and conferences.
What do we want to know about you?
- Experience with transportation, logistics, rail, fleet management, supply chain visibility, warehouse management, or operational software.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience using Rally or similar tools for managing user stories and requirements.
- Familiarity with enterprise workflow design and data-intensive applications.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Experience contributing to modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
What will your typical day look like?
- A current portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, interaction design, problem solving, and user-centered design principles.
- Experience designing complex B2B software products that support operational, financial, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain workflows.
- Experience translating complex business and operational requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and other stakeholders.
- Experience conducting or participating in user research, customer interviews, usability testing, and validation activities.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative data and customer feedback to inform design decisions.
- Proficiency creating workflows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready specifications.
- Experience working with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale and recommendations.
- Experience with Figma, FigJam, Microsoft Teams, and modern design collaboration tools.
- Experience effectively leveraging AI-powered tools and assistants to accelerate user research, workflow analysis, design exploration, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration while maintaining a strong user-centered design approach.
