Job Description
We are looking for an Equipment Program Management Regional Leader to supervise locomotive, kits, and engine program managers. This position will work closely with product managers and systems engineers, leading cross-functional teams to execute multi-million dollar locomotive and engine contracts. The role requires coordination with domestic and global business leaders to deliver projects on time and on budget, meeting all contractual requirements and satisfying our customers.
How will you make a difference?
A primary focus of the role will be leading programs for locomotives built in Kazakhstan, and working closely with Wabtec production partners. You will collaborate with warehouse and supply chain leaders to achieve efficient and timely deliveries that support manufacturing build schedules and overall program success, as well as develop a world-class team of program managers.
What will your typical day look like?
- Lead team and mentor program managers on creating integrated program management plans, leading, managing, monitoring, and controlling all project work.
- Ensure successful closure of programs and effective handoff to the services teams; evaluate and prioritize lessons learned to drive action for improvement.
- Manage program scope changes and act as the business tollgate approver.
- Review and ensure compliance to detailed and harmonized program schedules; drive milestone schedule adherence for proposals.
- Forecast, manage, and control total program costs including NRE, ACO, and logistics.
- Drive revenue, cash, and margin attainment; help team develop program financial forecasts.
- Incorporate the quality policy regarding planning, managing, and controlling project and product quality requirements.
- Facilitate customer inspections, testing, and overall acceptance of locomotives and contract deliverables.
- Identify, acquire, and manage the resources needed for the successful completion of projects.
- Lead executive program reviews; ensure timely and appropriate program communications, including business letters to customers.
- Monitor and ensure mitigation of program risks; maintain program risk registers.
- Identify the people, groups, or organizations impacted by the project; analyze and manage stakeholder expectations.
What do we want to know about you?
- Higher professional education (Bachelor’s degree or higher)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Program Management or equivalent
- Demonstrated locomotive/marine or other large industrial product line, systems, or manufacturing knowledge
- International program management experience working in a global organization, including direct collaboration with stakeholders, customers, suppliers, or cross-functional teams in the United States and/or India.
- Proven ability to lead complex multinational projects across different time zones, cultures, and business environments.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong financial acumen
- Strong competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Legal authorization in Kazakhstan is required
- Fluency in English is required
Desired Characteristics:
- BS/MS in electrical or mechanical engineering, supply chain, or operations
- Experience with Profit & Loss accountability
- Experience with Oracle SCM and ASCP or equivalent
- Commercial operations/contract management experience
- PMP certification
