Job Description
Who will you be working with?
You will be part of the Transit Services WEMEA Sourcing organization, working with PL Managers, S&T Managers, KAM, Commodity Managers, and Site Sourcing Teams. You will report to the Transit Services Sourcing Director WEMEA and work closely with the Sourcing Tender Coordinator.
How will you make a difference?
As a Sourcing Tender Buyer you will be responsible for managing tenders in line with the requirements of the Sales function. You will prepare and communicate cost inputs (External Suppliers, Direct Labour, Sister Companies) to support FCA creation, clearly outlining assumptions and risks (e.g. obsolescence, competition) to enable Go/No-Go decisions. You will use BL/BL provided by Commodity Managers where possible, support Site Sourcing during execution when needed, and ensure proper documentation and handover of tender data. You will also identify risks and cost-saving opportunities during the tender phase.
What will your typical day look like?
- Manage tenders in terms of timeline and quality
- Prepare and communicate cost breakdowns for FCA
- Identify and communicate assumptions and risks
- Apply BL/BL guidelines from Commodity Managers
- Support Go/No-Go decision process
- Store and maintain tender documentation (quotes, BOM, assumptions)
- Support Site Sourcing on the execution of the tender
- Identify and track risks and cost-saving opportunities
What do we want to know from you?
- +5 years experience in similar role in matrix multinational company (rail industry experience is considered an asset)
- Professional knowledge of MS Office
- Professional English and Italian proficiency
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand industrial manufacturing processes
- Ability to read contracts and tender specifications
- Excellent negotiations skills
- Excellent prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to travel occasionally in Italy
