Regional Sales Director (M/F)

 

We are recruiting for our Mors Smitt – Wabtec Group site located in Sablé‑sur‑Sarthe - France, a Regional Sales Director (M/F).


Region covered: Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Africa and Latin America
Travel: Approximately 50% of the time (domestic & international)

 

Who will you be working with?

You will work closely with the Mors Smitt – Wabtec Group commercial organization, partnering with an international network of regional sales managers, key account leaders, pre‑sales teams, production sites, and front‑office functions.In this role, you will interact daily with strategic customers—including global OEMs such as Alstom—and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between customer needs, commercial strategy, and operational execution across multiple regions.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Mors Smitt Commercial Leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and commercial performance across a large international region covering Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
You will lead and develop a regional sales team, define and execute growth strategies, and personally manage key strategic accounts. By representing the “voice of the customer,” aligning sales processes, and contributing to regional business planning, you will have a direct impact on market expansion, customer retention, and long‑term profitability.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Lead and support the regional sales team across multiple countries and regions
  • Act as Key Account Manager for strategic customers, including Alstom
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities
  • Develop new customers while strengthening long‑term relationships with existing ones
  • Prepare, negotiate, and monitor commercial offers and contracts
  • Contribute to regional business plans, budgets, sales forecasts, and KPIs
  • Coordinate closely with production sites, pre‑sales, and front‑office teams to ensure a seamless customer journey
  • Oversee sales processes related to IRIS certification requirements
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions, and commercial events

Qualifications

What do we want to know about you?

  • Master’s degree in a technical or technical‑commercial field
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience in the railway industry
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a sales team
  • Proven B2B sales experience in a complex, international environment
  • Strong understanding of relay technologies and the needs of technical customers
  • Excellent commercial acumen with a strong business and results‑oriented mindset
  • Fluency in French and English (Spanish or Italian is a strong advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and Salesforce CRM
  • High level of motivation, energy, and international mobility (≈50% travel
