Who will you be working with?

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Stores Operative to support the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and despatch of goods in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements. The role operates within a warehouse environment and requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safe working practices.

Location: Barton Under Needwood

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16.30pm and Fridays 8am to 1pm, 37 hours per week 

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

Within the stores department you will work alongside key individuals such as material planners and buyers, and working remotely with the UK team. You will be responsible for all store operations and administrative tasks associated with this as it pertains to the requirements of the operations. The role requires flexibility to work the occasional Saturday.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Accurately receive, store, pick, and despatch goods in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, including quantity, batch, and location, using Oracle or a similar ERP system.
  • Complete stock transactions using RF scanning devices to ensure real‑time data accuracy.
  • Carry out incoming goods checks, including visual inspections, quantity counts, and documentation verification.
  • Prepare outbound deliveries and produce associated documentation.
  • Safely operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including VNA, Bendi, Reach Truck, and Counterbalance Forklift, in line with training, certification, and site rules.
  • Move stock manually or using MHE, following manual‑handling and safe‑lifting practices.
  • Liaise with couriers, drivers, and internal departments to resolve stock or documentation queries.
  • Comply at all times with Health & Safety, quality, and company policies.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment.
  • A high level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and work with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive and problem‑solving approach to work.
  • Physical capability to undertake manual handling duties in a warehouse setting.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required, in line with business needs and working time regulations.
  • Essential: Valid and in‑date Counterbalance Forklift licence.
  • Desirable: VNA, Bendi, Reach Truck, or additional MHE licences.
    (Training may be considered for suitable candidates.)
  • Computer literate
  • Hold a valid current full Irish driving license. 
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (including Maths and English) pass grade or equivalent qualification

The Stores Operative plays a key role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe handling of all materials and components entering, moving through, or leaving the Stores environment. The role includes RF scanning, physical and system-based stock control, loading/off‑loading vehicles, and safe use of MHE (including VNA, Reach, and Counterbalance trucks). Tasks include receiving goods, inspecting for damage or shortages, handling clean and dirty assets for production, updating Oracle transactions, picking/kitting orders, and ensuring timely dispatch to internal and external customers.
