Job Description
Who will you be working with?
L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our Maintenance Department. This position will work directly with members of Maintenance and the Maintenance Supervisor on a daily basis. This role may also work with members of our Production crew.
How will you make a difference?
As the janitor, you will be responsible for janitorial duties in the shop, office areas, break room, locker room, and wash areas - General commercial cleaning of main production facility and administration offices while maintaining exterior grounds situated on a 10-acre lot. This position is essential to maintaining a clean and safe work environment, which supports employee health, morale, and productivity. It also helps ensure compliance with safety standards and contributes to overall operational efficiency.
This position is Monday-Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm. OT is possible depending on production needs.
What do we want to know about you?
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED with 6 months of experience in related field.
What will your typical day look like?
- Perform custodial services as per Custodian Checklist, including areas:
- General office areas.
- Lobby/front desk.
- Toilet and bathroom areas.
- Breakroom.
- Conference rooms.
- Training room.
- Walkways.
- Building.
- Outdoors.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors.
- Dust, clean, polish all surfaces, clean doors of finger marks, water indoor plants.
- Wash windows, walls, mirrors, hard surfaces, and company vehicle.
- Sanitize sinks, sanitize toilets/urinals, sanitize hand dryer, sanitize breakroom tables.
- Wipe/ polish light switches, empty rubbish bins, replace toilet paper, replace hand towels, fill soap dispensers.
- Perform minor maintenance.
- Pickup and deliveries.
- Touchup painting.
- Yard work; snow removal, lawn care.
- Operate riding lawn mower/snow blower, weed trimmer, edger, fertilizer etc.
- Perform related work or job duties as required by supervisor.
- Assist in other areas of production as needed if qualified.
What about the physical demands of the job?
- Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
- Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Stand on concrete for 8-10 hours.
- Work in high heat conditions.
- Practice and maintain safe work conditions.
- Capable of working with cleaning solutions and solvents
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to learn custodial and simple building maintenance practices and procedures.
- Operate custodial and building maintenance equipment.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Follow custodial and building maintenance practices and procedures.
- Must be able to handle the physical aspects of the job.
- Understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
- Learn to operate custodial and building maintenance equipment.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and background test.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $22.00.The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
