Job Description
Role Overview
The Technical Documentation Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for railway display systems (TFT, LED), audio systems and associated device engineering processes. This role ensures that all technical information is accurate, clear, and compliant with railway industry standards, supporting both internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for railway display systems, including:
- System and device descriptions
- Hardware datasheets (TFT/LED displays, controllers, power supplies, audio components)
- Installation and commissioning guides
- Maintenance and troubleshooting manuals
- Conformity declarations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather technical details and ensure documentation reflects the latest design.
- Prepare documentation for certification and regulatory compliance (EN 50155, EN 50121, IEC standards).
- Create diagrams, wiring schematics, and block diagrams to support written content.
- Manage version control and ensure documentation updates align with product lifecycle.
- Support customer documentation needs for tenders and project deliveries.
- Coordinate translation/localization for international railway operators.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Technical Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in technical writing within railway or industrial electronics sectors.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (MS Office, Visio, graphic tools, etc.).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Native in German and strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is a plus).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD tools to extract illustrations
- Understanding of embedded systems and display technologies.
- Familiarity with railway standards (EN 50155, EN 50121, IEC 61000 series).
- Knowledge of EMC design principles and safety requirements.
