Job Description

NineStar Connect is seeking a highly motivated Installation & Repair Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll install and maintain essential broadband, security, and voice services that keep homes and businesses across Central Indiana connected. This is a Bargaining Unit position with access to continued training and advancement opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install and repair broadband, security, access control, wireless, key systems (phone systems), and voice services for residential and business customers.

  • Use fiber and copper infrastructure to set up and maintain systems, test equipment, and program devices.

  • Troubleshoot service issues, wiring problems, faulty equipment, and network disruptions.

  • Provide product training to customers on installed services.

  • Complete service documentation including work orders, reports, billing, and timesheets.

  • Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle and ensure proper use of company tools and equipment.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for repair and emergency service.

  • Operate company vehicles, including a bucket truck, and follow safety protocols for ladders and fall protection.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Broadband, security, voice, wireless, and key systems

  • Fiber and copper networks, electronic practices, and in-home wiring

  • Basic electricity, computer software, and service documentation

  • General office practices and customer service standards

Skills in:

  • Preparing work orders, tickets, and time sheets

  • Using service equipment, hand tools, and fall protection gear 

  • Troubleshooting and resolving service issues independently

  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to:

  • Work independently and make sound technical decisions

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and external vendors

  • Follow technical instructions and safety protocols

  • Lift up to 60 lbs and work at various heights

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent + 4 years of combined experience and/or education in communications, telephone, or data systems

  • Required Certifications: Network+ and BICSI Technician (TECH)
