Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the Transmission Engineering and Operations department with inventory management support required within its warehouse and storage facilities. 

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Tracks incoming and outgoing material and logs in inventory management system.
  • Receives material from suppliers and stores appropriately within WVPA facility
  • Prepares, assembles, and organizes outgoing material for delivery to project sites.
  • Verifies accuracy of incoming and outgoing material.
  • Ensures adequate equipment inventory is maintained.
  • Coordinates with team to ensure accuracy of the WVPA inventory management database.
  • Performs cycle counts to check and update WVPA inventory.
  • Monitors supplier performance and works with project teams to resolve supplier issues.
  • Works with teams to ensure material is available for maintenance work.
  • Ensures proper organization within WVPA warehouse and storage facilities.
  • Provides basic administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facility.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree an accredited university or equivalent on-the job training
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in inventory management or warehousing
  • Prior electric utility experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and through email. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Additional Information

  • Spends 80% time in a warehouse environment.
  • Spends 10% time in a general office environment.
  • Spends 10% time in an outdoor environment.
  • Spends 20% sitting; 80% standing and/or walking in the course of performing job responsibilities.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
