Job Description

The Member Service Representative serves as an entry point for most member solutions on the telephone, in-person and electronically. This includes, but not limited to, processing member requests regarding electric service, processing various forms of payments and balancing daily transactions, and educating members on appropriate cooperative products and services.  

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will possess the qualifications listed below.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper cash handling preferred.

Personal & Position Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe and explain complicated or sensitive information, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and strong listening skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain professional and positive attitude with high verbal contact.
  • Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with management, employees, members, and others.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize, organize and manage tasks and time effectively.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must have the ability to process data using computer and various software.

Additional Information

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking a part-time employment opportunity. Standard office hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week during the days/times of standard office hours. This position does not qualify for benefits.
