Job Description

As the Customer Service and Billing Supervisor, you would oversee the Customer Service and Billing department to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate procedures based on the cooperatives strategic plan.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate activities of Customer Service and Billing employees to facilitate attainment of department goals
  • Supervises a team of Customer Service and Billing employees; perform various department functions for Customer Service and Billing such as coaching/training, scheduling, approving timesheet / PTO requests and conducting performance appraisals, performance management and employee leadership. 
  • Compiles statistical Customer Service and Billing employee performance data to measure and maintain standards of employee performance
  • Coordinate training and coaching to maintain an efficient and effective team 
  • Prepare various reports for administrative and Board meetings
  • Research and suggest resolution of customer complaints 

Qualifications

Knowledge of: 

  • Communications / team building practices
  • Company products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Billing functions and related legal requirements and regulations

Skill in: 

  • Making decisions by considering goals, identifying options, and setting direction
  • Delegating tasks to individuals based on skills and objectives
  • Facilitating meetings and discussions
  • Using software such as iVue, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

Ability to: 

  • Communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors in a professional manner
  • Relate to, communicate with, and motivate employees to sustain high performance and quality work
  • Build strong relationships and foster teamwork to motivate teams to sustain exceptional levels of performance 
  • Negotiate with others to come to a mutually beneficial outcome

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelors degree or five years of supervisory/management experience required
  • Communications and / or Utility industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in typing, business phone systems, and use of computers is required
