Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance/Custodial position will be responsible for all janitorial, building and grounds maintenance duties at all NineStar Connect office locations. Responsible for HVAC, water, electrical, and other essential equipment maintenance.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of buildings to include general offices, restrooms, break room, kitchens and common areas.

  • Makes minor repairs or work with contractors/vendors for major repairs/maintenance of responsible areas.

  • Prepare various rooms for meetings that have special setup requirements. 

  • Oversees maintenance of grounds around buildings seeing that the grounds are kept neat in appearance through the performance of required trash pick-up, landscape upkeep and snow removal.

  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Skill in: 

  • Oversee that floors in buildings vacuumed, cleaned, and polished.  Clean walls, windows and office furniture.
  • Purchasing inventory of janitorial supplies periodically, and orders needed supplies for the facility.
  • Miscellaneous drywall work and painting when needed.

Ability to: 

  • Work independently and make decisions and use independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Schedule and direct contracted building and grounds maintenance repair and to report on such results.
  • Use a computer and related software for documentation of maintenance records, use of company e-mail system, and use of work order system.
  • Service heating and cooling units to ensure maximum performance.
  • Establish a schedule to change or replace filters on heating units and humidifiers along with building and grounds security lighting. 
  • Purchases and stocks beverages, snacks, and paper goods etc. for break room and Community Room.

Knowledge of: 

  • Maintains operations of fire extinguishers.
  • Completing inspections of buildings and grounds. 
  • Maintaining a water softener system.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Previous experience with mechanical systems (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing).
