Job Description

Providing excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, processing information, and collecting payments. This position will serve as a service agent for residential communication services along with electric, water and wastewater and telecommunications. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

  • Provides customer service in person or by taking incoming calls regarding service questions or concerns along with posting in person payments and deposits. 
  • Outlines service options and signs new customers up for various services along with recording and processing customer information pertaining to each individual service order.
  • Works with other departments to create, process, schedule, and complete service orders for service changes, additions, or repairs.
  • Completes various correspondence to customers including membership application letters, verification letters, and credit checks. 

Qualifications

Skill in: 

  • Oral and written communication. 
  • Operating various personal computer equipment such as various software programs.
  • Using software such as NISC-iVUE, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Problem solving and resolution.

Ability to: 

  • Professionally communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors. 
  • Pay close attention to detail.
  • Work as a team player. 
  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Effectively manage time and resources.
  • Handle multiple tasks in limited timelines. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Telecommunication and/or Utility customer service is preferred.
  • Proficiency in typing, business phone systems, and use of computers is required.
